Out & Loud & Proud 2023 builds on over 20 years of Australian and Indo-Pacific LGBTIQA+ choirs gathering to sing as one. By collaborating with the world’s biggest Pride event, OLP 2023 will be a choral festival unprecedented in its scope and reach.

Out & Loud has been the premier platform for LGBTIQA+ choirs across Australasia and the Indo-Pacific region to gather, share experiences and the joy of singing together.
‘Camp Music’ was the first incarnation of Out & Loud, hosted by SGLC in Sydney in 2001 as a dry run for the Sydney Gay Games International Choral Festival in 2002, before it moved to Melbourne in 2007 and was renamed ‘Out & Loud’. Since then, the festival has been held in Auckland twice (2010 and 2016), Hobart (2013) and, most recently, in Canberra in 2019 where more than 300 singers gathered, representing nine LGBTIQA+ choirs from Melbourne, Brisbane, Darwin, Sydney, Auckland, Perth, Canberra and, for the first time ever, Fiji and Timor-Leste.
In 2023, Out & Loud adds “& Proud” to its name with the Festival being held as part of Sydney WorldPride, the first time ever WorldPride has been held in the Southern Hemisphere.
